Volunteers
Our work is made possible by a group of committed, motivated people who turn caring into action. We are incredibly grateful for their work and immensely proud of what they achieve. Take a look below to learn more about the people we work with.
Our amazing individual volunteers range in age from age 3-92 years old! 70% are volunteering in the homelessness sector for the first time. We have many different ways for you to get involved that are flexible and fun.
There are many ways that schools, CEGEPs and universities can engage with our work, depending on the aims of your community service program and age of your students. Events can include sandwich making, presentations and workshops, food drives, making art for our sandwich bags and collecting items for the Essentials Boxes. We aim for a fun, educational, impactful experience.
Workplace teams and community groups can support our work in many ways. Make a difference through sandwich making activities, hosting presentations and workshops, food drives and collecting items for the Essentials Boxes. We are also excited to hear your ideas on ways to get involved– as long as it aligns with our mission and values as well as our hygiene guidelines, we will try to make it work!

Our donors
Please see our most recent Annual Report for a full list of all of our incredible donors of money, items, time and expertise – private foundations, corporate donors, and individual donors. The ingredients for the majority of the thousands of sandwiches produced, is donated by the people who make them, many of whom are regular volunteers throughout the year. To say that the kindness, energy and generosity of our sandwich-makers is incredible, is an understatement. Without their involvement, the consistent, reliable support that the shelters have come to trust and rely on would not be possible. It is the volunteers and donors’ belief in our mission and support that has made our work possible.
